As I told someone today, I tend to be phobic about politics but, well, as you can see, there was free ice cream involved.
Lisa arrived without an entourage.
The crowd hadn't quite discovered that she was there yet, but some took advantage and stopped to chat with her.
As you can see, we Wasilla folks like our ice cream, but note the man's shirt. It's a Jon VanZyle.
And the most important place at the lake that day, the source of the ice cream.
Lisa laughing at a child's antics. There were lots of kids and dogs around.
I didn't stay for the entire event but never saw her once refuse to pose for a photo or listen and respond to anyone with questions. For someone who tends to avoid politics period, it was kinda refreshing, gotta admit.
My Iditarod friends may recognize Candy Gibson on the right. She's been working with the Bill Walker for Governor campaign, which her button reflects. Sen. Murkowski.... oh, who am I fooling, we Alaskans call our representatives by their first name most of the time.... so, Lisa is wearing a Ted Stevens button in honor of the man she most likely really did consider an uncle.
