Happy New Year -- 2008

There's not much chance of me ever getting hired to shoot pictures of fireworks, but here are a few quick ones going off over Idita-Park this evening.

Another gorgeous sunset. part 1

Stopped at the end of the road, this is my first glimpse of the wonders being served up for us mere humans to gaze upon.
Turning left off Holiday and onto Briar, this is my view heading down the hill.
Taken near the bottom of Briar, sorta where it bends back toward Lone Cub.
Zooming in, a good view of the layers and intense colors in the sky.
Seeing the chain link fence, I know I took this one along Briar somewhere as I backtracked just a bit.
Iditarod Park, at the bottom of my hill and extending way up to front Bill and Brenda's place, was my final destination. I'm looking easterly here.
Looking back to the west, I watched the every changing patterns and intensity of color in the sky.
Looks kinda like a wave in places, I thought.
Feeling pretty safe to say that the colors are actually pretty accurate, if anything not quite as intense as reality, no lie.

Another gorgeous sunset. part 2

Somehow, it didn't matter what direction I looked, it was all awe inspiring. All taken from Iditaod Park down at the bottom of my hill.

Another gorgeous sunset. part 3

Decorated for the holidays, trees in Iditarod Park

Wondering why I won't take it home to its nice warm garage, my Camry and its heated interior awaits me.

Beginning to Look Allot Like Christmas in Wasilla

Dorothy Page Museum
Bummer, the lights in the tree out front don't show, but here's my Wasilla Library, one of my favorite destinations at just about anytime.
Wonder if Santa as around? The ol' school in Old Wasilla Square behind the library and museum.
Decorated for the holidays, the cabin built for the governor (Hammond, I believe) when there was talk of moving the capital to Wasilla.

Outside Wasilla City Hall
Better angled look at City Hall from across the street.
Reminds me of one of my favorite songs, even if these aren't quite "Silver Bells"
One of my neighbors, who live on the hill above Bill and Brenda's condo. Much prettier than the picture makes it look.
Somehow I'm not sure ya'll will believe that I really meant to make this snowman, honest, it's a snowan, look this way.
