The Day After the First Snow

Wintertime means....having to sweep snow off your car to drive it anywhere. Pix like this make me appreciate my attached, heated garage. Ha

A gate to a road to, as far as I can tell, nowhere, but supplies a nice photo vantage point.

Loving the trees decked in white.

That flat, open space down there is Wasilla Lake.

More interesting trees and the mountains beyond.

Looking down on Fred Meyers and the Talkeetna Mts. from behind Home Depot.

Looking in the general direction of Theresa and Bonnie toward Eagle River and Chugiak.

For those who don't live in a snowy climate, did you ever wonder where all that snow goes from the business parking lots? It goes here, well, into big piles around the building. Nice and white now but this will eventually be a huge pile of dirty snow, so to speak, as winter goes along and the snow in the Home Depot lot isn't as clean as it still is.

Wasilla Lake again. Looking at the Talkeetnas has me itching to head out to Hatcher Pass, gotta admit.

Such a scene from a busy business' parking lot. One of those little perks of living in Alaska.
