Eklutna Cemetary, Russian Orthodox Influences

Eklutna Cemetary is always an intriguing place to visit, even more so since for the first time ever, I was able to visit the insides of both the old, historic Russian Orthodox Church, St. Nicholas, and the new structure. Captions later as I need to double check some dates before posting.

Love this place...love the Orthodox church. Love love love all these photos. :) Have you ever been inside St. John's Orthodox in Eagle River? It's gorgeous. There is a little hike from there to a prayer chapel in the woods where Thomas Merton wrote a book.
